A $76,000 grant will allow Family Counseling Services (FCS) of Cortland to continue its Early Recognition Screening Program.

The screening checks the social and emotional health of nearly 1,000 Cortland County youth and connects families to community resources and services.

The agency says its goal and the goal of its partners is to promote success in school and in the community.

According to FCS, historically, nearly 10% of the youth screened were referred for further evaluation and/or treatment.
