Area Police Report Accidents and Arrests

Cortland Police arrested a man from Cincinnatus early Sunday morning for driving while impaired by drugs and without a license.

Robert Fernaays, who is 31, was stopped on Hubbard Street.

Police say he was using the drug Molly.

Fernaays is due in City Court March 9.

Two men are being praised for their heroism for pulling a man from his burning truck after it went off Rt 23 Monday morning.

The efforts of Aaron Graham and Nate Bishop were praised on social media.

Cincinnatus firefighters worked quickly to contain the fire near 816 Rt 23.

The pickup went into a grassy area and crews were concerned about the grass catching fire.

Cincinnatus Ambulance took the man to Cortland Regional Medical Center.


A one-car accident off Rt 41 in Scott Saturday evening led to tickets for a 21-year old man from Lake Como Road. Logan Youngs went off the road near Country Lane.

Cortland County Sheriffs Deputies report he was ticketed for having a controlled substance, driving without a license and driving across hazard markings.

Youngs is due in Scott Court March 21.
