Jeanine M. Collier, 83, of Bedford St., Homer, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2015 in the Cortland Regional Medical Center.
A lifelong area resident, she was born in Cortland on February 26, 1932, a daughter of the late John and Eva Leitch Hess.
Jeanine was a member of the Homer United Methodist Church and a former member of Calvary Episcopal Church, Homer.
She was an active member of the Homer American Legion Auxiliary; a longtime member of the Sweet Adelines and took great joy in being Mrs. Claus.
She retired in 1990 from the Child Development Center and had been employed at Pall Trinity and also for several years in the cafeteria at Homer High School.
Jeanine loved spending the summers at the family cottage on Song Lake.
Surviving is her loving and devoted husband of 64 years, Donald S. Collier; two daughters, Diana Moreland of Homer and Nancy (Jim) Gouchie of Phoenix, NY; her brother, David (Anna Marie) Hess of Homer; four granddaughters, Kristin Moreland; Melissa (Miguel) Campos; Corrine (Philip) Mitsiell and Heather Kilmer; six great grandchildren, Jordan, Jonah, Nina, Jadin, Jackson and Olivia; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 16, at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 N. Main St., Homer, with Rev. Rachel Morse and Rev. Allan J. Ferguson co-officiating. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Homer.
Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-7p.m.
