Cortland County Legislators would like to approve a 2017 budget prior to election day.
At a special meeting Monday night Majority Leader Kevin Whitney introduced a $132-million draft proposed budget prepared by Budget Director Peggy Mousaw.
There are no layoffs called for in the spending plan.
Mousaw notes that the budget total is $100 under the state tax cap limit, thanks to use of county reserve funds.
Legislators have a couple of days to review the plan before a Budget committee meeting Thursday at 3 pm.
The regular October legislature meeting is Thursday night.
Another special legislature meeting is already scheduled for November 3rd.
