River’s Rising In Cortland But Not Likely To Flood

Local News

The Tioghnioga River has been at about 3 feet at its measuring point in Cortland this summer.

With all the rain recently, the river is rising according to the US Geological Survey gauge.

The 6 pm Friday reading was 4.46 feet, and projections are that it may swell to 6.5 feet by Saturday night.

A water level of 8-feet is considered a minor flood stage for the Tioghnioga River at Cortland.
