The USDA’s Northeastern Crop report was just released, and here are the New York numbers:
Corn production is forecast to be down 2% from last year. Yields should average about 131 bushels per acre, down about 12 from last year.
Soybean production is expected to come in up 3% over 2015. Soybean yields average 41 bushels an acre, down 2 bushels from last year.
Alfalfa and alfalfa mixture dry hay is forecast to come in 43% above 2015. Yields should average 2.8 tons an acre up a half-ton from last year.
