Police Reports: Men Arrested in Groton And Homer

A family argument led to the arrest of a Groton man Saturday, according to police.

Tompkins County Sheriff’s deputies say at about 9:15 pm, they were called to a home on Eden Road.

Deputies say Daryl Metzler, Jr, 35, pushed a woman and took her cell phone so she couldn’t call for help.

Metzler was charged with criminal mischief, arraigned in town court and released.


Homer-policeHomer Police say a man from Cortland Street in the village took money from a woman’s purse and then her car early Saturday.

According to information from police, a woman told officers that an acquaintance, Dustin Fellows, 35, took $100 and left with her car at about 5:30 am.

About 13 hours later, police found Fellows on Elm Street and charged him with unauthorized use of a vehicle and petit larceny.

The vehicle was recovered on South Main Street in Cortland.

Fellows was sent to the county jail awaiting bail.
