This week on Meet Cortland County, the issue is the fluoridation of public drinking water, something that may be considered by the City of Cortland.
Mayor Brian Tobin invited experts from each side of the issue to a public forum and you’ll hear from two on this program.
First, Paul Connett from Broome County, who founded the Flouride Action Network. He’s against adding fluoride.
The second speaker is Johnny Johnson, a pediatric dentist out of Tampa, Florida and is a nationally-known proponent of fluoridation.
The city plans another forum on September 22 to discuss the bioethical issues and costs of public fluoridation.
