USDA Report Indicates Recent Rains Help…A Little

The weekly USDA Ag Stats report for New York shows some regions got a little rain, up to a half inch, and it’s helping a little, especially for soybeans and alfalfa.

The corn silage harvest is underway but the yield is expected to be low.

That rain is helping apples get a little bigger, but the USDA report indicates that heat is delaying development of the rich red colors.

Peach, blueberry and raspberry harvesting continues with no reports of infested fruits.
