Microenterprise Assistance Program Available For City Small Businesses

Small businesses within the City of Cortland may be eligible for grant funding through the Microenterprise Assistance Program, according to Thoma Development.

Grant awards range from $5,000 to $35,000. Applicants are required to provide a 10% equity match toward the approved grant amount.

Funding may be used for equipment purchases, inventory, working capital and software upgrades.

Thoma Development says the program offers small businesses a chance to receive a capital boost without taking on additional debt. The program is specifically designed to support businesses with five or fewer employees, including the owner.

Grant funding may also help businesses expand their capacity and contribute to the local economy.

Applications are due by Tuesday, October 13, at 4 p.m. Applications may be dropped off at Thoma Development, located at 34 Tompkins Street in Cortland.
