The Cortland County Chamber of Commerce monthly “Business After Hours” event is Wednesday night at the Local Food Mart, North Main Street in Cortland.
Bob Haight is President of the Chamber and told WXHC about the third annual “Art from the Start” auction and fundraiser at the Business After Hours event.
“Artwork that is created by preschool-aged children, and some of it is absolutely incredible. Some items will be for sale and about 15 other items will be up for auction that evening.”
Proceeds from the business networking event and “Art from the Start” auction benefit local families, according to Haight.
“The money raised, 100% of it, goes toward a scholarship fund to help out low-income working families so that they can continue to have their children in professional childcare.”
Chamber’s First Blood Drive Thursday
The Chamber of Commerce also plans its first blood drive Thursday, from 10 am-3 pm at the Port Watson Mini Conference Center.
Chamber president Bob Haight says he already has his appointment, at 10:15 am.
“I will time how long it takes for my donation. Any Chamber member beating my time will get a free pass to an “After Hours” this summer.”
Walkins are welcome, but donations usually take less time if you schedule when you can come in.
The chamber has a link on its website to the Red Cross appointment schedule.
