Cortland Volunteer Helping Red Cross Help Flood Victims

Local News

Help for the Houston area to deal with nearly two feet of rain and devastating floods is coming from central New York.

The Red Cross of Western and Central New York sent six volunteers to Texas to help.

Cortland’s Frank VanSickle is helping by working out of the Cortland Red Cross office.

He is training virtual (telephone) caseworkers who will contact flood victims by phone to match them with the help they need.

The Red Cross also reminds us today is its annual Giving Day, where donations are put to work helping families in need.
