It was a packed house in Homer last night where the village board held a meeting to update the community on plans for new village offices.
Several dozen people attended the forum at the Paul Hill Community Building last night.
In 2010, the village moved out of the Homer Town Hall building and relocated to the current village offices next tot he Fire Station. Village leaders claimed there were health concerns with the building.
Since then, town officials have conducted multiple rounds of testing on the building. Those tests have failed to substantiate those claims, but former village employees claim their health suffered while working in the historic town hall.
Last night, the village board talked about pricing for a new building and location. Leaders also spoke of the need for more office and meeting space. Mayor Suits and the Village Board said the building project is still in the early planning stages.
