New York Solar Campaigns Prompting Investment in Renewable Energy
Local News February 22, 2016New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced last week that 900 solar projects are underway statewide thanks to a $1 billion dollar state initiative to increase solar energy production in New York.
The increase is part of the community “Solarize” campaigns. The campaigns are aimed at helping community outreach efforts to get more homes and businesses to install solar panels.
The Central New York region, which includes Cortland County has the second largest number of solar projects underway.
Solarize CNY has 192 projects which produce up nearly 2700 kW of renewable electricity.
