Poison’s Rikki Rockett is battling oral cancer, according to Blabbermouth. The drummer revealed to DJ Eddie Trunk that he’s already completed “multiple rounds of treatment” for the tumor on the base of his tongue and awaiting an evaluation early in the New Year to see if he’s beaten the disease.
Rockett, who said that he’s already underwent 35 rounds of radiation explained, “I’m just gonna try to put that out of my mind for now and just continue to get better and feel better. There’s nothing that looks like it’s there anymore. They’ve gone down, they’ve looked at my throat — but it’s swelled up and it’s hard to tell. But it looks like it’s in remission.”
Rikki Rockett’s latest band, Devil City Angels, released its self-titled debut set in September. The band now features Tracii Guns on guitar, Cheap Thills guitarist Brandon Gibbs, and Whitesnake and Quiet Riot bassist Rudy Sarzo.
