The City of Cortland and the Village of Homer have announced the times for their annual 9/11 Ceremonies for next Wednesday, September 11th.

The City of Cortland will host theirs from 8:30 in the morning until 9:30 at the 9/11 Memorial at Courthouse Park in Downtown Cortland.

For the Village of Homer, the ceremony will take place at 6pm at the memorial next to the Homer Fire Department. The mast of ceremony this year will be Gary McEuen, a past Fire Chief for the Homer Fire Department and US Air Force Veteran. Guest speaker will be the Village of Homer Deputy Mayor, Pat Clune, retired Lt Colonel US Army and Veteran of the War on Terror.

Homer will also dedicate this year’s ceremony to Retired New York State Trooper Steven Bilodeau, who passed away in August from a 9/11 related illness. He was a long-time resident to the area and served 32 years with the State Police mainly out of the Homer/Cortland Barracks.
