Repeat child sex offender facing new charges

A Cortland man now faces additional charges for child sex crimes on top of those he was hit with last week related to a separate investigation into repeated incidents of the same vulgar.

Forty-one-year old Anthony Woods is accused of having inappropriate contact with a juvenile several times last summer in the town of Cortlandville.

That followed an investigation by the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office beginning on June 4.

Woods is also the subject of a city police investigation that closed last week, charging him with repeated sexual assault against a child on Pendleton Street, which reportedly occurred from October 2017 – June 2019.

His combined charges now include the following:

Sheriff’s Office

  • Predatory Sexual Assault against a Child (F)
  • Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree (F)
  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child (M)

City Police

  • Predatory Sexual Assault against a Child (F)
  • Course of Sexual Conduct against a Child (F)
  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child (M)

Woods was last known to be waiting for arraignment and no bail information has been listed on his case.
