Officials at Racker have announced the return of the 6th annual Racker Rivals Big Red event in a new virtual format for the 2020 exhibition hockey game.
Each year, the fundraiser pairs NHL stars, Cornell Hockey alumni and local celebrities who play in front of fans at Cornell’s Lynah Rink to support programs for children with disabilities in our community.
Due to COVID-19, this year it will take place entirely online.
The “game” will be four weeks of spirited campaigning between Team Racker, coached by Greg Hartz, President and CEO of Tompkins Trust Company, and Team Cornell, coached by Cornell Big Red men’s hockey coach Mike Schafer.
Pledging begins June 15, with players battling for their team to raise the most money for the benefit.
A digital scoreboard will track each team on their quest for the trophy.
