The Cortland City Council has approved a $68 thousand dollar loan to help renovate a new business incubator downtown.
The Cortland Downtown Partnership business incubator at 40-42 Main Street is up and running.
The agency has spent over a million dollars to purchase and complete initial renovations of the three-story building. Updates so far have included new heating and electrical systems as well as a new elevator.
Partnership Director Adam MeGivern says with those renovations complete the agency is now looking to rehabilitate the first floor commercial space to attract a new tenant that will help generate income for the agency and bring one or more new businesses to Main Street.
Eventually, the third floor of the building will include a luxury apartment.
The next round of renovations will also include some Facade improvements.
