An affordable housing project that was first proposed within the Town of Cortlandville back in August 2022, has finally received state funding through tax credits and subsidies. Regan Development was awarded $9.3 million following an announcement by Governor Hochul Tuesday.

Regan Development looks to construct a mixed-use 4-story building at 968 Route 13, next to CountryMax. The project has been waiting for funding before construction could begin. The building will include 68 affordable apartment units, a recreation space, and a playground. Access for the building will be shared with CountryMax.

The project has received approval from both the county and town planning boards, and was given an extension by town planning through 2027 while Regan waited for funding.

Funding was awarded through the New York State Homes and Community Renewal’s annual Low-Income Housing Tax Credit competitive funding round. Regan Development has previously informed the town that if they’re awarded funding, construction would begin in the fall of 2026.
