$5,100 Raised During Annual ‘Kiss the Calf’ Fundraiser
The Seven Valleys Health Coalition says their Kiss the Calf fundraiser this year was able to raise $5,100, the organization had set a goal of $5,000. If the fundraising goal was achieved before February 13, several community leaders would kiss a calf at Fouts Farms in Cortlandville.
In addition to the challenge of getting community leaders to kiss a calf, all donations of $100 or more were entered into a raffle to have a chance to win a basket of New York State made products. For every dollar raised, Seven Valleys says it will go towards directly supporting their mission of addressing food insecurity and increasing access to healthy foods for everyone.
Seven Valleys thanked this year’s participants, Ilya Shmulenson, Executive Director of Lime Hollow Nature Center, Cortland Police Chief David Guerrera, Christine Armstron, Owner of Heart Centered Yoga, Christina Borst, Cortland County Dairy Ambassador, and X101’s own, Mike Eves. Along with Fouts Farms for hosting the event and Clementine, a 12-hour old calf, and the New York State Farm Bureau.
