Cortland Sheriffs are investigating a one-car accident with injuries that took place Wednesday (March 6) night in the town of Cincinnatus.

Sheriffs responded to the scene on Lower Cincinnatus Road just past 8:00 Wednesday night.

They say the driver, 19 year-old Tyler Bard of Plymouth, NY was travelling northbound when he lost control of his 2005 Nissan Sentra near the intersection of Baldwin Corners Road and struck a utility pole.

Bard was flown to University hospital by Life Net helicopter for immediate medical treatment.

The road was closed for about two hours for investigation and clean up. The Willet Fire Department and Ron’s Auto assisted at the scene.

That accident is still under investigation at this time.

Police say speed and road conditions do appear to be contributing factors in the crash.
