The 3rd Annual Juneteenth Celebration will take place tomorrow from 11am to 1pm at Courthouse Park in the City of Cortland.
The free event will feature food, music, speech, lawn games, and giveaways. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Juneteenth honors the end of slavery in the U.S. on June 19th. The day commemorates the day when the last enslaved people in the country were informed of their freedom.
The day became an official Federal holiday in 2021, when President Biden signed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act into law.
