Shane Granger, 40, of Cortland, was one of the first arrests of the New Year early on Monday, New Year’s Day.
Cortland Police were called to break up a fight at 160 Main at about 3:20 am.
Officers report when they tried to search Granger for weapons, he fought with them. No weapon was found.
Granger was charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration and Resisting Arrest and released until court on January 24.
Cortland Police arrested Mark Powell, 40, of the city, following an accident in front of 60 Main Street a little after midnight on Sunday, New Year’s Eve.
Powell left the scene but returned while police were investigating.
Powell was charged with DWI, unlicensed operation and leaving the scene.
He was released until a court appearance scheduled for January 17.
Robin Stevens of Cortland, who is 34, was arrested by Cortland Police on Friday night at about 10:30 for harassment.
Police say that on Thursday afternoon, he left a message on the voice mail of a 22-year old woman and threatened to harm her.
He’s due in court on Wednesday according to Cortland Police Lt. Rick Troyer.
Cortland Police arrested John Alexander, 33, of Virgil, on Thursday morning at about 8:15 for criminal contempt.
Officers say two weeks earlier, he left a voice mail on the phone of a 30-year old woman who had an order of protection against him.
Alexander was arrested on a warrant. Police say he was located at an address on Port Watson Street with the same woman.
Alexander is due in court the end of next month.
