National-weather-serviceA Frost Advisory is in effect for Cortland and Tompkins Counties from 2 am to 9 am Monday.

The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a Frost Advisory, which is in effect from 2 am to 9 am Monday.

This affects Cortland County as well as Steuben, Chemung, Tioga, Broome, Tompkins, Chenango, Madison, Oneida, Otsego and Delaware Counties in Central New York.

The hazards: Areas of frost.

Temperatures: Generally in the mid 30s. Sheltered valleys could see lows near freezing.

Timing: Overnight Sunday night into early morning Monday.

Impacts: Potential damage to sensitive plants.


Reminder: A Frost Advisory means that widespread frost is expected. Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered.
