The Crown City Little League Board of Directors made the difficult decision to limit the 2020 season to the Major Division only (11 and 12 year olds) only, with registration for that group open until June 14.
For players in the Minor and Rookie Divisions (5-10 year olds), the league does intend to provide clinics and other structured activities over the upcoming months.
“In light of the current COVID-19 pandemic situation, and the governor’s phasing plan for restarting activities in New York, we feel it is in the best interest of CCLL and the safety of our players, volunteers and families to move forward cautiously,” the Board said in a Facebook post. “This plan will best allow us to engage in the mitigating recommendations required to play baseball while still allowing our “graduating players” the chance to experience their final season of Little League baseball.”
Families who have already paid their fees and are not able to participate this year have four refund options, with details available at crowncityll.com.
