On Wednesday (July 1), Cortland city police arrested 22-year-old Dillan Taylor, of Kingsley Avenue, related to an incident from February 11.
Taylor reportedly choked and raped a 16-year old girl, with whom he was familiar prior to the incident.
The female victim was not treated for any injuries at the time of the incident, but police have been searching ever since for Taylor, who’s normally a Syracuse resident.
He’s now charged with three felonies and two misdemeanors for 1st and 3rd-degree Rape (F), 1st-degree Sex Abuse (F), Criminal obstruction of breathing (M) and Endangering the welfare of a child (M).
Taylor was remanded to CCJ in lieu of $5k cash/$10k bond and is set to appear in city court tomorrow.
On Thursday (July 2), police arrested 18-year-old Jamar Gilmore, of Clarren Street in Endicott, after an investigation into an alleged incident that occurred in the early morning hours that same day in the city of Cortland.
Gilmore is accused of forcibly compelling a 15-year-old girl to engage in sexual conduct.
He was charged with a felony and a misdemeanor for 1st-degree Criminal Sex Act and Endangering the welfare of a child (M).
Following arraignment, Gilmore was remanded to CCJ on $500 cash/$1K bond, then later bailed out of custody.
His next city court appearance is tomorrow at 2 pm.
