$1M donation match met to support Guthrie Cortland Cancer Center
Local News February 23, 2021A $1M donation match challenge was met yesterday to support the new Guthrie Cortland Cancer Treatment Center, under construction at the corner of West Main and Loope Streets.
It took about two months — almost to the day — since the effort was launched in December by an anonymous member of the community.
That person will now reveal their identity at a special event planned for April to thank everyone who contributed to help reach this goal.
Construction broke ground in October and officials are planning for a November 2021 grand opening.
WXHC will speak later this morning with Cortland Memorial Foundation executive director Deborah Nadolski and campaign co-chair Dr. Patrick Hayes.
They will discuss what these donations mean for the project and how the cancer center will benefit the region in the future.
