Los Angeles Kings Captain Dustin Brown was named the NHL's Mark Messier Leadership award winner at last night's Postseason Awards Ceremony in Las Vegas last night. Brown earned the award by virtue of his commitment and dedication of service to charities in his community.

In Minor League Baseball last night, the Syracuse Chiefs edged Lehigh Valley 4-3 in the first game of a scheduled doubleheader. Game two was postponed by weather, with a makeup slated for tonight as part of a twin bill. Elsewhere, Binghamton shut out Reading 2-0, and will go for the series sweep tonight, while Auburn fell to Williamsport 10-4. Those teams will duel again tonight.

The Cortland Crush had yesterday off, and are scheduled to play at Geneva tonight and tomorrow night and at home against the Red Wings on Friday night. Cortland pitcher Dan Karasinski and Infielder Geoffrey Seto were named to the New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL) Honor Roll for their performances last week.
