The Cortland Crush fell 10-7 at Oneonta last night. Wes Burghardt, Geoffrey Seto and Zachary Racusa each drove in two runs for Cortland. The Crush have today off before their next two games at Geneva on Wednesday and Thursday nights. The Crush will be at home on Friday night against the Red Wings.

Vanderbilt put up nine runs in the third inning and held on to beat Virginia 9-8 in the NCAA Division I College World Series, best of three, Championship round last night. Vandy is one win away from a national title. On the  Commodores' coaching staff is former SUNY Cortland Player and Coach Scott Brown. Brown played three years at Cortland and was a Second Team All-American in 1999. He also served as Pitching Coach under Joe Brown following his playing days.

The Syracuse Chiefs completed a series sweep of the Durham Bulls with a 7-4 win yesterday afternoon. The Chiefs are home tonight for a doubleheader with Lehigh Valley. Elsewhere in Minor League Baseball, the B-Mets outasted Reading 12-8 last night, with game two of that series tonight in Binghamton, and the Auburn Doubledays edged Mahoning Valley 4-3 in 10 innings last night, and will head to Williamsport for a pair of games starting tonight.

Among the inductees this year into the Hockey Hall Of Fame are former Buffalo Sabres Goaltender Dominik Hasek, as well as Forwards Mike Modano and Peter Forsberg and Defenseman Rob Blake. Also to be honored this year are the late Pat Burns, former coach of the Devils and Canadians, and long-time referee Bill McCreary.
