The Salisbury Gulls will be SUNY Cortland's first opponent at this year's NCAA Division III College World Series beginning Friday. Salisbury beat Case Western Reserve 3-2 yesterday in the Marietta Regional Championship round. Cortland and  Salisbury split a weekend series at Salisbury in late February. The Gulls took Game 1 by a score of 12-5 and the Red Dragons won Game 2 by a 4-1 score.

Former SUNY Cortland Football Coach Dave Murray has a new job. After 16 seasons at Alfred, which included a pair of wins over his former team in postseason play, Murray was named the new Head Coach at Hamilton College last week.

In Minor League Baseball yesterday, Syracuse beat Columbus 5-0. Ross Ohlendorf, down from Washington on a rehab assignment, pitched 5 scoreless innings, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out 4. Elsewhere, Binghamton and Portland split a doubleheader yesterday. the B-Mets won the first game 5-0, and Portland claimed the second game 8-2, in a makeup of an April postponement.

The Yankees say CC Sabathia will be out six weeks with that injured knee. Sabathia had a stem cell injection last Thursday and will be back in early July if all goes well.

Former Syracuse Crunch Goaltender Dustin Tokarski started for the Montreal Canadians last night in game 2 of the NHL's Eastern Conference Finals. Canadians staring goalie Carey price missed the game after he injured his knee in game 1 on Saturday. The Rangers won the game 3-1, with Tokarski making 27 saves in the loss.
