SUNY Cortland Senior, and Ithaca native, Rebecca Studin has earned an individual berths into the 2014 NCAA Div. III Women's Golf Championships. She will be one of 111 golfers overall in the field at the four-day event Tuesday-Friday, May 13-16, at the Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. Studin is Cortland's first women's golfer to qualify for the NCAA Championships. After the 21 teams were selected for competition, Studin was the remaining top-ranked golfer in the East Region and was chosen to fill one of the six individual qualifier spots at the championship. During the 2013-14 season, Studin has recorded an average score of 78.0 over 19 rounds. She has registered 13 rounds in the 70s and was Cortland's top finisher in nine of 10 events. Studin was the medalist at the NYU Invitational last fall and the Vassar Invitational this spring, and she earned runner-up finishes at three other tournaments. Over her four-year career, Studin has an average score of 81.1 and has been the Red Dragons' top performer in 27 of 36 events.
In High School Baseball, Dryden beat rival Lansing 10-6. The Purple Lions are 9-1 in Division play and 11-3 overall.
In Minor League Baseball, the Syracuse Chiefs beat the Durham Bulls 8-4. The series continues today. Elsewhere, the B-Mets fell to new Hampshire 5-0, with game 2 of that set tonight as well.
