The NFL released it's 2014 regular season schedule last night. The New York Jets will open the regular season on September 7th with the Oakland Raiders at home. Other highlights include division rivals New England (Away on 10/16 and home on 12/1), Buffalo (home 10/26 and away 11/23) and Miami (home 12/1 and away 12/28). The Jets will play the Bears on Monday Night Football on September 22nd and host Peyton Manning and the Broncos on October 12th.
The NFL season opens in Seattle on September 4th when the Seahawks host the Packers.
The SUNY Cortland Men's Lacrosse team wrapped up it's fifth straight undefeated SUNYAC season with a 14-3 win over Geneseo yesterday in Cortland. Zach Hopps led the Red Dragons with a career-best seven points, on four goals and three assists and Benjamin Dunlavey scored three goals. the Red Dragons, at 13-3 over on the season, are off until they host a SUNYAC Semi-Final next Wednesday.
Today on the Red Dragons schedule, the Softball team travels to Nazareth for a doubleheader and the Outdoor Track and Field teams are at the Penn Relays.
The TC3 Men's Lacrosse Team fell to Monroe Community College 23-9 in the first round of the NJCAA Region III Playoffs yesterday. Orazio Ciaschi (Ithaca) led the Panthers with three goals and two assists, Austin Recor (Homer) added two goals and Josh Maxson finished with a goal and an assists. TC3 finishes the season with a 5-10 record.
In Minor League Baseball, The Syracuse Chiefs blanked Louisville 7-0, with game three of the series tonight in Louisville, and the B-Mets game with Portland was postponed until May 3rd by rain. those two teams will try again tonight in Binghamton,
