The SUNY Cortland Men's Lacrosse team edged Ithaca College 8-7 in Overtime last night at Ithaca College. Matt Rakoczy netted the game-winner for Cortland and finished with two goals and an assist, as did Mike Cantelli and Lafayette High Alum Nate Beresovoy, Homer Grad Hunter Osbourne added an assist for the Red Dragons.

The SUNY Cortland Softball team swept a doubleheader at Ithaca College yesterday. The Red Dragons won game one 3-0, with Home Runs by Diane Cork and Carrie Stoddard, and Gem two by a 4-2 margin.

The SUNY Cortland Baseball team's weekend series at Brockport has been moved to Cortland due to field conditions at Brockport. The tentative plan is to play one game on Saturday and a doubleheader on Sunday.

The Syracuse Men's Lacrosse team edged Binghamton yesterday 10-8. Cortland High grad Brandon Planck scored a goal for the Bearcats.

The TC3 Men's Lacrosse team set program records for margin of victory and goals scored in a single game, as they beat Hudson Valley Community College 28-14. Ithaca native Orazio Ciaschi set an individual record by racking up 11 points, on 8 goals and 3 assists. Homer Alum Austin Recor scored 5 times and added 3 assists and Homer grad Matt Salisbury added 2 goals and an assist.

In the AHL last night, Rochester beat Syracuse 5-2.

It is opening day for Minor League Baseball in the region. This afternoon, the Syracuse Chiefs host the Scranton/Wilkes Barre Yankees. Tonight, the Binghamton Mets host Akron.
