The Syracuse Men's Basketball team is the # 3 seed in the South Region of the 2014 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship Tournament. Syracuse is 27-5 on the season, but have lost 5 of their last 7 games. The Orange will face Western Michigan on Thursday afternoon in Buffalo. The Broncos are 23-9 and champions of the Mid-American conference, and are lead by Guard David Brown, who averages 19.4 points Per Game. Game time is 2:45 Thursday Afternoon. Syracuse is one of six teams from the ACC selected to participate in the tournament this year. North Carolina State, perhaps by virtue of their win over the Orange in the ACC Tournament, drew a 12 seed in the Midwest region and will play Xavier tomorrow night in a " First Four " game in Dayton Ohio. ACC Champions Virginia is the top seed in the East and will take on Coastal Carolina on Friday in Raleigh North Carolina. Pitts is a number 9 seed in the South Region and will play Colorado Thursday in Orlando Florida, North Carolina drew a 6 seed in the East Region and will take on Providence on Friday in San Antonio Texas. Duke is the # 3 seed in the Midwest Region and will take on Mercer Friday in Raleigh.

The SUNY Cortland Baseball team fell to Shenandoah 13-10 yesterday in the final game of their Spring trip. Cortland is 10-4 on the season and is scheduled to open up their home season with a single game against Ithaca College and a three game series against New Paltz this weekend to open their 2014 SUNYAC season.

In the American Hockey League yesterday, Binghamton came from behind to beat Rochester 7-3 and Albany shut out Syracuse 3-0.
