The Syracuse Men's Basketball team will meet High Point at home this Friday night at 7pm ... our pregame coverage starts at 6:30. The Orange are 10-0 on the season and are ranked # 2 in both the Associated Press and Coaches Polls this week.
The New York Jets are 6-8 on the season and will host Cleveland Sunday afternoon at 1pm ... Jets Pregame at noon on the air.
SUNY Cortland Freshman Linebacker Tristin Laroure has been named the ECAC Division III South Region Defensive Rookie Of the Year. Laroure tallied 99 tackles, including 59 solo stops, in his first year with the Red Dragons. Other ECAC South Region Honorees include Nick Daley, the Senior Kicker, as an All-Region First Team selection. Daley went 35-35 on Point After Tries and 10-12 on Field Goals, and averaged 61.6 yards per kickoff with 21 touchbacks, for the Red Dragons this season. Wide Receiver John Babin is a Second Team selection, after making 82 catches for 1278 yards and 13 touchdowns.
TC3 Women's Soccer Defender, and Dryden High Alum, Sara Sinnigen has been Named to the All-American Team by the NSCAA. Sinnigen tallied 10 points on 4 goals and 2 assists in addition to her standout defensive play.
Two TC3 Men's Soccer Players have been named All-Americans as well. Lansing Alum and Defender Sean Streb was regarded as one of the best defenders in the conference, and contributed 15 points on Offense, on 7 goals and an assist. Also for the Panthers, Morgan Shutter was honored as an All-American, after already earning the Mid State Athletic Conference Player Of the Year award. Shutter scored 10 goals and added 4 assists for 24 points this past season.
In AHL Action last night, Syracuse fell at Hershey 4-3 in a shootout that lasted 11 rounds.
The Washington Nationals have announced a four year extension of their affiliation with the Syracuse Chiefs at a " news conference yesterday. The Chiefs will now be the "AAA" level affiliate of the Nationals through the 2018 season.
