Last night, the Syracuse Men's Basketball team beat St. Francis (Brooklyn) 56-50. The Orange used a late run to come from behind and pull away. Dajuan Coleman led Syracuse with 14 points and 6 assists, Jerami Grant tallied 13 points and 8 rebounds and Trevor Cooney added 12 points. C.J. Fair was held to 2-14 shooting and just 7 points on the night. Up next, the Orange head to the Maui Invitational starting next Monday. Their first opponent is the Golden Gophers of Minnesota ... the game begins at 5pm Eastern Time ... the pregame show starts at 4:30 on Oldies 101.5.
It was doubleheader night at the Dome last night and, in the early game, the Syracuse Orange Women's Basketball team drubbed Cornell 89-48.
Football on the air this weekend: On Saturday, SUNY Cortland travels to Alfred for the E.C.A.C. North Central Championship Bowl ... it's a 1pm start and our pregame show starts at 12:25. Sunday, the Jets are in Baltimore to take on the Ravens at 1pm ... we'll have it starting at Noon with the pregame show.
Tonight at SUNY Cortland, the Men's and Women's Basketball teams play Elmira College. The Women begin at 6pm and the Men's game starts at about 8pm. The Men won their opener against Medaille and the Women split two games at the Mary Washington tournament and placed second to the hosts.
Cortland Native Jordan Prior, who plays Basketball for Morrisville State, is this week's New England Athletic Conference (NEAC) Men's Basketball Player Of the Week. Prior had a productive weekend at the NYU Invitational for the Mustangs ... scoring 20 points, including four three-pointers, and shooting 54 percent in a win over Elmira College and tallying 12 points, including three more three-pointers, in a loss to the hosts.
