On the air this weekend: High School Football on Friday night features Homer hosting Westhill at 7pm ... 6:45 for the pregame show ... the Trojans are averaging over 330 yards rushing pre contest through their first three games. Westhill is 2-1 and is coming off a 48-6 win at Solvay last week.
On Saturday SUNY Cortland heads to St. John Fisher for a non-league contest at 4pm ... join us at 3:25 for the pregame ... The Cardinals are ranked # 18 this week in the d3football.com poll. For Cortland, Tyler Hughes will be the starting Quarterback, after his historic rushing performance last week.
On Sunday the Jets travel to Tennessee for a 4:05 PM start, with pregame activities beginning at 3pm.
Other High School Football games this weekend include Marcellus at Cortland tonight. Cortland comes of the win over Phoenix last week, while the Mustangs lost a 28-7 lead and fell to Cazenovia 43-35 last Thursday. Also tonight, Greene is at Dryden. The 1-1 Purple Lions will play their first game on their home field tonight, after their season opener was moved to Cortland High School due to unplayable field conditions. On Saturday, Groton is at Moravia and Tully is at Lafayette/Fabius Pompey
In College Sports yesterday: The SUNY Cortland Women's Tennis team fell to Misericordia 7-2. The Red Dragons are 1-5 this Fall.
In High School Girls Soccer yesterday, it was Lansing over Dryden 3-1.
There were tears flowing everywhere as Mariano Riviera pitched his final game at Yankee Stadium last night. Riviera got four outs in the 8th and 9th before Derek Jeter and Andy Petitte came out to take him out of the game. The fans gave Riviera one final 4 minute standing ovation as he left.
