On the air this weekend: Tonight's High School Football Game Of the Week is Phoenix at Cortland ... on Homecoming at Cortland High ... starting at 6:45, with a 7pm Kickoff. Tomorrow, SUNY Cortland meets William Paterson on C-Club Hall Of Fame day. Kickoff is at Noon with Pregame Activities at 11:25 AM. Running Back Justin Autera is expected to start for the Red Dragons after missing the season opener two weeks ago with a strained knee. On Sunday, The Jets take on the Bills at Met Life Stadium at 4:25 pm. Jets Pregame is at 3:30.
Also tonight in High School Football, The Homer Trojans entertain Chittenango in a Key Section III, Class B-West Matchup at Butts Field. In Section IV Football, Dryden is at Chenango Forks and Groton hosts Odessa-Montour ... both the Purple Lions and Indians are 2-0 on the season.
Congratulations to Marathon High Field Hockey Coach Karen Funk ... with a 4-0 win over Owego yesterday, Funk now has 500 wins in her career at Marathon.
In other High School Sports action yesterday, it was Dryden over Marathon in Boys Soccer 1-0 and Phoenix cruised by Lafayette in Boys Golf.
If you're headed to the Syracuse/Tulane Football game tomorrow you might want to keep your eyes open. The Green Wave are " quarterbacked ' by Junior Nick Montana ... who's father Joe is expected to attend the game tomorrow.
In other Syracuse news, Donovan McNabb had his # 5 retired at halftime of the Eagles/Chiefs game last night, which was won by Kansas City 26-16 ... with former coach Andy Reid returning and beating his former team.
Running Back Trent Richardson is in Indianapolis and ready to begin his next chapter with the Colts. He was picked up at the airport by Scout Assistant Dan Pitcher.
Jets Guard Willie Colon fined over 34,000 dollars for his sideline altercation at New England last Thursday night. Colon will appeal the fine because he says the fine in more than he expected it to be.
