On the air this week on Oldies 101.5 ... On Thursday, the New York Jets visit the New England Patriots. Game time is 8:25 PM with coverage beginning at 7:30. Friday, it's the home opener for Homer is they host Skaneateles at 7pm ... our coverage begins at 6:45 PM. On Saturday, we'll present bonus coverage of Syracuse vs. Wagner College Football. The Pregame show starts at 3pm, with kickoff slated for 4 from the dome.

Syracuse coaches have told Quarterback Terrel Hunt that he will play in Saturday's game ... meanwhile Drew Allen, who started in the season's first two games, says he's confident that he will improve.

The New York Giants have brought back Brandon Jacobs to add depth to the Running Back position. Jacobs played for the G-Men from 2005 through 2011, and was on both Super Bowl championship teams during that time. The Giants are looking for some insurance after Rookie David Wilson fumbled twice against Dallas on Sunday night.

Former Syracuse Basketball player Fab Melo had received an invitation to attend the Dallas Mavericks preseason camp. Melo was traded from Boston to Memphis, for Dontae Greene ... another SU standout ... but was recently released by the Grizzlies.

The SUNY Cortland Women's Volleyball team swept Scranton last night by set scores of 25-13, 25-17 and 25-21 to raise their record to 4-5 on the season.

In High School Sports Yesterday: Boys Soccer ...Cortland beat Jamesville-Dewitt 3-2 and Dryden shot out Trumansburg 3-0. In Girls Soccer it was Dryden over Moravia 5-0. In Girls Tennis Cortland downed ES-M 6-1. In Girls Volleyball it was Westhill sweeping Lafayette in 3 sets, and in Cross Country it was Trumansburg beating Marathon, Lansing and Tioga, with congratulations to the Olympians Dylan Brickner for finishing first in the Boy's 5,000 meters with a time of 20:17.0.
