Jets Quarterback Mark Sanchez thinks he's lost his starting job ... at least for this week. speaking to reporters after yesterday's practice, Sanchez said he believes that Geno Smith will get the start vs. the Giants in this Saturday night at Met Life Stadium. Smith has been taking snaps with the 1st team offense this week and went 15-16 with two touchdowns passing yesterday. Head Coach Rex Ryan stopped short of making the announcement yesterday. but said it was reasonable to assume that an announcement would come today.

You can hear the Jets and Giants preseason tilt this Saturday night on Oldies 101.5 starting at 6pm with the pregame show ... kickoff is at 7pm.

The Syracuse Men's Basketball team beat McGill 80-40 last night in the first of four exhibition games in Canada. Jerami Grant netted 17 points for the 'Cuse, Tyler Ennis had 11 and C.J. Fair had 13 points in just 11 minutes. Fair left the game with, what turned out to be, a bruise on his leg after diving for a loose ball. Fair says he expects to play in the next game or game after that.

In Minor League Baseball yesterday, Binghamton best Bowie 5-3, and Auburn and Batavia split a doubleheader, with the Doubledays winning the opener 7-0 and the Muckdogs winning game two 1-0 in 8 innings. The Syracuse Chiefs were off yesterday.
