Today is the day the Major League Baseball is expected to announce suspensions related to the Biogenesis investigation.

Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez is expected to be suspended for the rest of this season and all of 2014 under the League's Drug policy. This means A-Rod can appeal the suspension and play while his appeal is being heard. Rodriguez has been penciled into the lineup for the Yankees game against the White Sox by Manager Joe Girardi.

In Minor League Baseball yesterday, Syracuse beat Rochester 3-2, Binghamton blanked Harrisburg 6-0 and Auburn routed Hudson Valley 13-4.

The New York Jets resume practice today after an off-day yesterday. The Jets have made some player moves ... releasing Wide Receiver Jordan White and Cornerback Eric Crocker, who sacked Quarterback Matt Sims during the Green/White Scrimmage. The Jets have signed Wide Receiver Michael Campbell, who was on the Jets practice squad in 2011, Running Back Mossis Madu and Center Erik Cook.
