SUNY Cortland men's lacrosse coach Steve Beville has been named the head coach of the Iroquois Nationals men's lacrosse team that will be competing in the 2014 Federation of International Lacrosse World Championships in Denver next summer. The tournament  is run by U.S. Lacrosse and is expected to be the largest international lacrosse event in history with as many as 40 nations represented. Beville recently served as an assistant coach on the 2012 Iroquois Nationals U-19 squad that won a bronze medal at the World Championships in Finland. During that tournament, the team upset Team USA for its first-ever win versus an American team in international competition.

The New York Jets practiced in the dampness today at SUNY Cortland. The team's popular " Green/White Scrimmage" is coming up Saturday Night at 6pm inside the stadium complex. The team will also hold an " open " practice tomorrow at 10am on the grass fields.

Bills Defensive End Mario Williams Injured Foot kept him out of practice yesterday. The team is saying that the injury is " not that serious " and Williams is " Day-To-Day".

In Minor League Baseball, Syracuse and Louisville split a doubleheader yesterday. The Chiefs won the opener 3-1 and Louisville took the nitecap 3-0. Elsewhere, Binghamton fell to Altoona 3-2 and Lowell blanked Auburn 7-0.
