The New York Jets held their first training camp practice of the year under a bright sun this morning. The team has open practices scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday and Monday at 10am before a closed practice on Tuesday. The popular " Green/White scrimmage is set for Saturday August 3rd at the Stadium Complex. Running back Mike Woodson is not with the Jets yet at camp for what is called " personal matters " by his agent. Woodson, who signed a three year contract during the off-season, was arrested on drug and weapons charges in May. However, both his agent and team officials say that is not why hasn't made the trip yet. Coach Rex Ryan said inn a statement that the team is " understanding and supportive ".

Former Syracuse Defensive Tackle Jason Pugh and Quarterback Ryan Nassib are in Giants camp after both signed deals yesterday. No terms were disclosed for either contract.

Another Coaching change is taking place in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, with the announcement by TCNJ Head Coach Eric Hamilton that he is retiring after 37 years at the helm and 41 straight seasons with the Lions, which began as a player in 1971. Hamilton faced a two game suspension as a result of a postgame incident following the Lions game against Kean Last October.

In Minor League Baseball, Syracuse was shut out by Louisville 1-0, Trenton blanked Binghamton 2-0 and Williamsport beat Auburn 4-1.
