Former Syracuse star Dion Waiters scored 27 points in the Cleveland Cavaliers 72-66 win Over the San Antonio Spurs in NBA Summer League Action. Scoop Jardine was also available for the Cavs but did not play. Elsewhere, Brandon Triche scored 6 points for the Bobcats and Donte Greene tallied 15 for the Memphis Grizzlies in a game won by Charlotte 92-84. Arinze Onuaku scored 6 points and added 8 rebounds for Phoenix in a win over Portland and Demetrius Nichols saw time but did not scorer in the Milwaukee Bucks loss to the Lakers.

Former Syracuse standout Kris Joseph is also in Las Vegas, looking for a place to play ... either in the NBA or overseas ... next season.

Los Angeles Kings Captain, and Ithaca Native, Dustin Brown signs an 8 year, 47 Million Dollar, contract extension which has him under contract in L.A. through the 2020-21 season.

NASCAR star Tony Stewart wrapped up his New York State Dirt Track run with a second place finish in a Sprint Car All-Star Race at Fonda Speedway last night.

In Minor League Baseball yesterday, Syracuse hammered Rochester 11-4, Binghamton edged New Britin 4-3 and Auburn fell to Tri-City 9-3.

Also in the Minors Yesterday, Alex Rodriguez started at 3rd for the Scranton/Wilkes Barre Rail Riders last night and hit a 2 run homer in the Rail Riders 8-0 win over Charlotte. A-Rod is looking to rejoin the Yankees next week in Texas.

Major League Baseball gets going again tonight with a full slate of games. The Yankees visit Boston and the Mets host Philadelphia tonight.
