Forward Metta World Peace and the New York Knicks have agreed to a 2 year 3.2 Million Dollar deal. " Metta " is still owed 7.3 Million by the Lakers next season under the current collective bargaining agreement's amnesty clause. The Knicks may need Metta more than they first thought, as Forward J.R. Smith has undergone Knee Surgery and is expected to miss the next 3-4 months, and that could impact the start of next season for Smith.

Sprint Cup Driver Tony Stewart is spending the Sprint Cup series' week off ... in Sprint Cars. Stewart has three appearances scheduled for th3e week in New York State. " Smoke " will race at Canandaigua tonight, in Fulton with fellow Sprint Cup driver Kasey Kahne tomorrow night, and in Fonda on Thursday.

In Minor League Baseball it was Binghamton over Richmond  7-3 and Staten Island over Auburn 7-4.

Curtis Granderson hopes to be back with the Yankees later this month. The veteran outfielder is recovering from a broken pinkie and has not resumed Baseball Activities yet.

tonight is the Major League Baseball All-Star game at Citi Field in New York ... and Mets Righty Matt Harvey will start for the National League. The Senior Circuit has won three straight All Star games ... and the winning league gets home field advantage for the World Series.
