The New York Jets preseason camp in Cortland starts in two weeks, and Quarterback Mark Sanchez is once again getting the jump on preperations for the upcoming season. Sanchez has invited about 15 teammates  to his annual " Jets West " workouts near his Southern California home. The sessions focus on passing, with Sanchez serving as Quarterback and Coordinator.

Derek Jeter appears to be on the way back to New York before the All-Star break. Reports say Jeter's gear has been shipped to New York and that he could be in the lineup as soon as today's day game with Kansas City as, at least, the Designated Hitter. Jeter has played 4 games with Scranton/Wilkes Barre, the Yankees "AAA" affiliate, as part of a rehab assignment.

In Minor League Baseball yesterday, The Buffalo Bisons scored a run in the 9th and beat the Syracuse Cheifs 4-3. Auburn and Brooklyn got as far as the Bottom of the Fourth before being suspended by last night's storms. The teams will pick that gamne up today. with Auburn leading 2-0, then play a seven inning, regularly-scheduled, game. The Binghamton Mets will host Portland for a doubleheader tonight, after two days off for the "AA" All-Star Break.

In NBA Summer League action today, Johny Flynn and the Indiana Pacers will take on Utah and Michael Carter-Williams, James Southerland and the Philadlphia 67'ers will take on Orlando.

The New York Rangers have signed Forward Carl Hagelin to a two-year 4.5 Million dollar deal.
