Yankees Shortstop Derek Jeter says he's about set to begin playing rehab games. Jeter has been running the bases and taking "simulated" at-bats in preparation for his assignment.

Meanwhile, Alex Rodriguez says he won't "quit" on the Yankees. A-Rod says it has never crossed his mind to ask for a trade or retire. Rodriguez has played in two rehab games and says he'd like to play about 20 before returning to New York.

The Mets are set to recall First Baseman Ike Davis from triple-A Las Vegas. Davis, and two others were sent down because they were slumping. All three are said to be returning together.

The Knicks have reportedly re-signed J.R. Smith to a 4 year deal worth nearly 25 million dollars.

In Minor League Baseball, The Syracuse Chiefs took two from Lehigh Valley ... winning the opener 7-4 and the nitecap 6-5. Elsewhere, The B-Mets edged New Hampshire 7-5 and Jamestown squeezed by Auburn 5-4.
