Michael Carter Williams, the former guard of the Syracuse Men's Basketball team, was picked 9th by the Philadelphia 76'res last night at the NBA Draft, held at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn. Two other Orange Alums, James Southerland and Brandon Trische, were not picked, but are expected to land with clubs as undrafted Free Agents and head to summer league teams.

SUNY Cortland Women's Lacrosse coach Kathy Taylor is been named the IWLCA D-3 Empire Region Coach Of the Year for the 3rd straight season. The Red Dragons went 21-2 in 2013, Won their 15th straight SUNYAC title and made it to the NCAA Semi-Finals for the 3rd straight year. Taylor has a record of 93-16 in her 5 years at SUNY Cortland.

In Minor League Baseball, The Auburn Doubledays lost to Williamsport 5-3 in Game 1 of a scheduled Doubleheader. The Second game was suspended after 2 innings with the Doubledays leading 1-0 and will be picked up at a later date. The Syracuse Chiefs and Scranton/Wilkes Barre Railriders were suspended heading to the bottom of the 4th with the Railriders leading 2-1. They'll finish that one and play another if weather allows tonight. The Binghamton Mets and Trenton Thunder never got started last night because of the weather and will make the game up in July.
