Yankees First Baseman Mark Teixiera will miss the rest of the season and will have surgery on his injured wrist. His recovery time is expected to be about 6 months and he thinks he'll be ready for Spring Training.

Meanwhile, Alex Rodriguez thinks he has no future with the club at all. In a report, Rodriguez is alleging that the Yankees are deliberating slowing his recovery time so that they can place him on the " Medically Unfit To Play " list and recoup 80 percent of his 28 million dollar salary for the season through insurance. Yankees GM Brian Cashman denies this report. He says team brass and A-Rod have spoken since all of this surfaced, and that they are on the same page now. Cashman also said he regretted his recent outburst in which he suggested that A-Rod should " shut *** **** up ".

The Yanks lost to the Rangers 8-5 last night. The teams meet in a day game today. Meanwhile, and the Mets travel to Colorado for a date with the Rockies. Last night, former Syracuse " Skychief " Shaun Marcum threw 8 innings of four-hit, shutout ball in the Mets 3-0 win over the White Sox.

The Syracuse Chiefs fell to Scranton/Wilkes Barre again last night, this time by a score of 6-3. The Binghamton Mets and Auburn Doubledays were both rained out yesterday.

Tonight is draft night for the NBA. Former Syracuse guard Michael Carter-Williams will be watching from the " Green Room " at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn ... a place only top 15 picks usually watch from ... meanwhile teammate James Southerland, who has worked out for 15 teams since entering the draft, is projected to go as high as the 40th overall pick ... and some sources say he may not get Drafted at all. Southerland has said all his workouts for teams went well.
